For some reason that I can’t really recall (like I need to explain myself to you people anyway hahaha) I really wanted to work out what Duchamp’s undergarments looked like since she has such a weirdly shaped and unconventional body. Her lower body doesn’t so much have as tail as it is a tail, just with two legs stuck on the front.
Being that Ulysses is half-human of course, technically some lucky dude got to see this I guess.
Bloomers are fun. I drew those things from memory too.
A short and sweet single image summary of Ulysses and Duchamp’s relationship. Like most kids, Ulysses loves his mother but she wears on his nerves a lot.
Welcome to the club man.
(Also yeah Duchamp is like 8-9ft tall)
Here are two major character designs that I felt compelled to clean up and re-draw because I was so pleased with them. They’re from a story of mine called “R.E.M” which centers around a detective tracking a murder through dreams.
The gal at the top is Duchamp, and in the story she’s the queen of the dream-realm and ruler of everything in it. She’s intensely whimsical and silly as one would imagine and makes light of most situations, telling jokes to distract or cheer people up. She exists exclusively in the world of dreams but has absolute power there, able to change and twist around whatever or whoever she wants. Her own body is an even stranger anomaly itself (even as far as dreams are concerned).
The fellow under her is Ulysses and he’s the half-human, half-dream son of Duchamp, and the prince of the dream realm as such. His mixed lineage comes from the fact that years ago Duchamp hooked up with an unnamed human male. He’s a stark contrast to his silly and care-free mother, as he works a job, pays taxes, and very much considers himself an “adult’. He can be easily stressed though, and he’s not yet managed to coax the identity of his human father out of his mother, to his frustration.
Together they balance each other out, and also serve to teach each other valuable things along the course of the story.
Man I really love parent/child OCs.
One of my pastimes is going on Youtube and watching fight scenes from movies. I enjoy it immensely and it also lets me subconsciously absorb material as reference and inspiration for fight scenes in my work. A few of my favorites are: the existing footage of Bruce Lee from “Game of Death”, the final fight between Rock and Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV”, and the single-shot staircase fight with Tony Jaa from “The Protector”.
Seeing some more modern MMA inspired scenes lead me to want to make a brutal, beat-em-up style, Shonen-like story involving MMA fighting, but with all female characters so our protagonist Anna-Lucia here was created.
I’m still hammering out some things with the story but those lighter sketches on the side were me trying to give her a slightly bulkier frame and more prominent features because I felt as a fighter she was still too “conventionally” attractive.
A page where I was just cementing through repetition drawings, the look of a primary antagonist from one of my stories called “Strain”.
In said story a returning Chinese satellite probe crashes after a botched re-entry, carrying a lethal space virus. Said virus spreads rapidly and wipes out most of the world populous, and the few survivors are one of three things:
- Flat out immune.
- Transformed into hostile mutated monster’s with the smarts of a wild animal.
- Or minimally mutated people with tremendous powers such as super strength, and enhanced speed.
The last one is the rarest occurrence, with their population of the survivors being in the single digit percentile. And unfortunately for our heroes that’s what Larke here is (hence her antler and warped face mutations). She’s got the good ol’ Magneto syndrome of “We’re the next step in evolution" going on, and wants to wipe out the remaining human survivors to pave the way for a new world order. Also yes she has an ARMY shirt because she was in the military before the virus broke. So on top of her scary virus-enhanced powers she also has military training and knowledge.
She’s from Alabama so I imagine her having a heavy southern twang.
I was re-visiting and filling out some elements from a story sequel of mine and I began working in earnest on the main antagonists of the story itself.
This is one of the few “fantasy” world settings I have (if you could really call it that) and in the sequel we get a sort of gunpowder age advancing on the whole traditional swords, shields, and arrows warfare we saw in the first. This is introduced to the plot in the form of a larger imperialistic nation invading the land of the main characters to make it a colony, and being back up by all manner of real and fictional industrial age tech.
The two characters above are the highest ranking military figures in the occupying force and I really wanted to do a story where the “superior” and “more advanced” colonizing force are people of color (since a significant portion of the main cast is white).
Just some re-drawings I did of a short story in college, where a mother’s son is sick so she leaves the father at home to tend to their child, while she dons armor and goes off on a bloody quest to the top of a dangerous mountain to get the herbal plant that grows at the top that’ll cure her son.
This just started out as a doodle I wanted to do of a bunch of floating eyes over a face but I got the idea halfway through that she’s some sort of person who serves as this weird organic surveillance system for distant alien races to monitor earth, and each eye records what she sees for different far off galaxies.
Hence where the creepy dialogue came from.
So, what happened to the art? Where have you been?
I know there’s been a bit of an art drought on this blog, and I wanted to take a moment to answer some questions folks probably had.
First off I want to say how much I appreciate everyone who’s bothered to stick around, despite the really thin flow of art trickling in.
I want to let everyone know that I am still producing content, the difference is at the end of last year I made the decision to get the ball rolling and start creating legit comics rather than pretty pictures with lush descriptions of what will be in “the future”.
Well the future is now folks. I’m done waiting.
I’m currently in the middle of working on a roughly 160-page one shot that I plan to release later this year called “O I L”. I’ve planned to slowly release hype posters and concept material for it to garner interest in it before it’s actual release. But because this is the priority and because I’m doing my best to make sure it doesn’t come out rushed and thrown together (I’m following no one’s deadline but my own) there will be a continued shortage of other art and finished works while I make this crucial step down my career path.
Once again, thanks to everyone who’s stuck around! I hope you guys enjoy what I’ve got in store and be sure to hype the hell out of O I L when the posts start rolling out! I’m excited for it and I hope you all will be too!

Gave my persona got some cool epaulettes (ornamental shoulder pads) as a slight design upgrade recently. That and a cute little aiguillette (braided cord) on the side too! I like how he came out with this look of trying to be intimidating but still a bit uneasy/nervous, cause that’s pretty much me in a nutshell.
Military aesthetics are the greatest yall.
Super-late birthday fanart for my close friend and big inspiration: http://queencrunchmcbuttsteak.tumblr.com/
It’s her original character Genesis! She’s a succubus by definition but she’s not your conventional one, she gets her power more from cuddles and nuzzles and spooning and other affectionate things rather than sucking out souls or banging folks. So be sure to be on your best behavior! Who wants to cuddle? (
Lord knows I do)
Just some inks from a poster I did of one of my story ideas waaaaay earlier this year. Normally I don’t throw up my bare bones inks cause for some reason I just don’t think they look complete but whatever.
This has been a story that started out as a singular one, but has grown in my head to be my second only: story trilogy (next to my post-cybrerpunk opus LIVE GEAR).
Basically humans live in an land known as the Kashmir empire, governed and controlled by a ruling class of dragon/reptillian-like creatures known only as the ”Orsi”. Like the Jim Crow south of the U.S. humans are segregated and treated as second class citizens, and many are victims of abuse, discrimination and violence by their much larger counterparts. The main character Yancy joins a growing resistance after he looses his sister and parents, to finally bring the Kashmir empire down.
Archaeopteryx hipster girl I drew a while ago and slapped some limited colors on. Insert ”stock popular phrase” and it looks like we’re done!
Did some futzing around with my persona yesterday, and wanted to try out a color scheme on him. Turned out pretty decent! Especially that eye. That red eye might just be canon now.
2013 Colors + 2012 Inks = ehhhhhh… Hahaha it doesn’t matter if I like it or not, I got way too much other stuff on my plate to worry about than spend more time tweaking this. Enjoy a random naga woman! She’s got snake parts for daaaaays son~
Don’t laugh at her fortunes or skip out on paying cause she’ll eat you.
