WELL it’s less than a month until my birthday (August 11th).
Ever since I turned about 22 or 23 I’ve kinda suffered from birthday depression that kinda seems to increase each year around so I’m doing my best to find a way to get through this one without mentally going into a slide for a day or two…
25 HERE I COME I GUESS. [GROSS LOUD SWEATING]
ALSO, ON A NOT-SO-DOWNER NOTE: HELLO AND WELCOME NEW FOLLOWERS!!!
How do two shady twins gain possession of a sentient and intelligent guitar playing dragon? How are they not burned to crisp/eaten/cooked alive than eaten by the dragon? Why did the dragon learn to play a guitar? Too many questions, will probably never get answers.
The real answer they’re referencing here is probably some combination of: extreme luck, on-the-fly thinking, and a dusty old Scandinavian book on magic spells and dragons they found in their grandfather’s attic after he died.
As for those other questions you’ll have to wait until I do the actual story to find out!
They’re talking like you could buy the answer from them, but that book of theirs is most likely not for sale, no matter how much you offered…
have you ever drawn a Saiyan-like character?
My giant fat alien dragon character Fresno isn’t like a sayian in the visual sense (obviously), but in his back-story he’s a lot like Goku!
Their stories of: "Alien lands on Earth being from a race meant to destroy it, but bangs his head/gets amnesia and forgets his original purpose. Becomes friendly and innocent until others from his race come to finish what he didn’t and he has to fight his own kind to protect the world he calls home." are exactly the same!
His race is super durable tho and anything less than a direct shot from a tank will do nothing, plus they can fire energy beams from their mouths.
Throwing my hope into this pit: "Draw a Shark thing one day."
How about a big shark thing today friend?
((Camilla's a funny chick.))
I’m sure she knocks ‘em dead at the local comedy club’s open mic nights…
Had the urge to draw my little detective demon woman Fiori again after a long stretch of not touching her (it’s almost been a year I think?).
In her story, the police department’s occult division summons her in an effort to get a big strong intimidating monster to help aid the police against out of control crime, but they just kinda end up with a goofy, optimistic, bottom-heavy one.
She’s pretty smart tho, and still has some unique powers, so they just figure “what the hell” and make her a detective!
Another little illustration of my 2000+ year old vampire Camilla. I imagine these were her official duds back when she was helping to run the once (now disbanded) super powerful and global shadow government of vampires called "The Institute". Top brass positions got to wear all black with those swanky scarves.
Of course, based off the dialogue and that awful look I gave her, I imagine she was a bit less goofy and more ruthless back then too.
Recently I’ve felt my style has been stagnating a bit, so I was doodling around the other night, trying to choose a new stylistic direction to inject into my work and give it a fresh feel. These were some of the best results I got (still a few technical failures here and there).
Her name is Ryan and I’m actually going to develop her into a character for a recent idea I had!
My half of an art trade with my good friend and radical artist: Cruxia!
GO GIVE HER A FOLLOW.
This is of her powerful and menacing OC of the same name! She rules the underworld like a well oiled business and her business is in souls! Wanna give her yours? She’s sure to make it well worth it!
She is a businesswoman after all…huhuhuhuhu~
When you’ve quit your stable (but boring) marketing job to start a legendary metal band, most people would say you’re already putting a lot of faith in what’s only a dream.
But if you’re like Jamie Cho and his friend Hugo Pierce, it’s go big or go home. And “going big” means clearing out your bank account and emptying your 401k to buy a giant, guitar-playing, Nordic dragon from two shady twins on Craigslist.
It’d been a good two years since I had touched these guys, and all of a sudden recently I wanted to draw them really badly so here we ARE.
They’re part of a “Weird Western” genre story called "WEST". I won’t go into heavy details but this is the main cast, who together form a unique and diverse posse of deputized adventures, exploring the fabled Western Badlands and busting gangs of evil outlaws!
Abigail Eastwood (Middle); A tough-as-nails leader and aspiring sheriff who uses a devastating kick-based martial-arts style called “Desert Hawk”.
Sherwood Baker (Bottom left); A traveling evangelist who’s also a Jackalope and has some of the fastest feet in the entire West.
Maria Alonzo (Top left); A charismatic but somewhat creepy necromancer who can summon colorful skeletons and speak to the dead.
Jodi (Bottom right); Hailing from a race of magical candy-eating pinata people. Can shape-shift into any creature she sees, and is much stronger than she looks.
Running Elk (Top right); A Native youth who’s closest companion is a sentient rain cloud carrying the protective spirit of his deceased older brother.
I know this will sound weird, but you've made me realize the appeal and sexiness of pear-shaped female bodies with your adorable and fantastic female characters, and I thank you for that. :)
your a busy man and you might not see this. But I was inspired by your blog and made a playlist of music that makes makes me gives me the same feeling your art gives me. I just wanted to let you know.
I’d totally be interested in seeing this playlist whoever you are! I’m really curious as to what feelings my art instills in other people, that’s one of my favorite dimensions of being a creator!
I REALLY LIKE YOUR AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART *BLUSHES AND RUNS AWAY*
I get asks like this in my box every once in a while, and I just wanted to (finally) take the time to say not only thank you to this one, but everyone else who’s sent similar ones in. I got a few more than usual in the recent waves of new watchers so I just wanted to say thank you to everyone!
I’m currently working on new art content to tie folks over here while I continue to chug away at the larger projects, and I hope everyone sticks around to enjoy them! Welcome new watchers and thanks again everyone!
I should really start to answer asks publicly more…yeah.
